BURN

  • Burn is the first sculpture completed within a larger project investigating wildfire called Spark (see the upcoming section of the website for information and images about the larger ongoing Spark project). Burn was inspired by the movement of flame through narrow fissures as well as by the topography of glaciers in Southeast Alaska. The burned surfaces of the sculpture are Alaskan yellow cedar and purple heart woods. The sculpture is five feet across.
