SeattleMet 2013This group of small sculptures was made with wood salvaged from the historic schooner Wawona . The color variation in the wood has not been applied; it is the result of more than a century’s immersion under water, where iron, copper and fish oils slowly leached into the wood grain. Cast translucent resin is paired with the wood in some of the sculptures. Chute, Channel, and Case were first exhibited at Davidson Galleries (WA) and are now in private collections. Fata Morgana was first exhibited with Cynthia Reeves Gallery (NY). Meander was commissioned by Horizon House in Seattle (WA) and is currently in their private collection.
